Kanye West apologizes to Taylor Swift, wrote a song for her

Kanye West, the hip-hop star who caused controversy when he interrupted country singer Taylor Swift at the Grammys last year, has apologized to her (via Twitter) and revealed that he wrote a song for the 20-year old.

West 'unleashed a torrent of emotions on his official Twitter account', according to the Associated Press, while also acknowledging that he had done wrong in interrupting the order of events last year, as well as saying that the award Swift had won should have gone to Beyonce.

He also revealed, also via Twitter, that he had been the subject of death threats and much public disapproval since the incident. "How deep is the scar ... I bled hard ... cancelled tour with the number one pop star in the world ... closed the doors of my clothing office," he tweeted.

The incident at the Grammys in 2009 provoked worldwide media attention. President Obama even referred to West in a press conference as a 'jackass'. "I'm the guy who at one point could perform the Justin Timberlake on stage and everyone would be sooo happy that I was there," he wrote.

"People tweeted that they wish I was dead ... No listen. They wanted me to die people. I carry that. I smile and take pictures through that."

American Idol producers still covet Elton John

Is American Idol executive producer Nigel Lythgoe unhappy with who's going to be the show's next two judges? It sure sounds that way. I caught up with him at the 8th annual BAFTA/LA Tea Party in Century City today and asked him to confirm that Steven Tyler and Jennifer Lopez will replace Simon Cowell and Ellen DeGeneres. “I must say, I really do love Elton John. He’s a huge favorite of mine,” Lythgoe replied to me.

The producer added that Elton's packed schedule is “always the problem”. Then Lythgoe revealed what strategy Idol is using on Elton to convince him to clear it and come on the show. Read the full article here.

Bill O'Reilly goes after Kim Kardashian over Justin Bieber shoot (VIDEO)

Conservative commentator and Fox News personality Bill O'Reilly has unleashed against an Elle Magazine photo-shoot featuring teen singer Justin Bieber, 16, and reality TV star Kim Kardashian.

Reacting to photos of the 29-year old's shoot with Bieber, Fox News commentators weighed in on the nature of the shoot, and whether or not it was done in poor taste. "I think it's gross," Margaret Hoover told O'Reilly on Friday night. "It's like a pre-pubescent 16-year-old having an affair with a celebutante!"

"I wanted to be a baseball player [when I was 16]. I didn't want to hang around with Kim Kardashian," he said. "I had a baseball bat and a glove and ice skates! That's what I was doing.
I'll tell you this: If a 16-year-old girl was pictured with a 29-year-old man in any of that, he'd be in big trouble. Game over," he went on to say.

Tyra apologizes for the 'Top Model' thin waist clip

Supermodel talk show host and presenter of the hit TV show 'America's Next Top Model', Tyra Banks, has released a statement apologizing for a shocking video which showed the amazingly thin waist of one of the show's contestants, Anne.

The clip shows the girl, who is tall - about six foot two - auditioning for a part in the upcoming season of the show. The judges, including Banks, appear amazed and mystified at the size of her midsection.

The statement Banks released is shown below:

In an effort to create a fun and entertaining sneak peak of the upcoming cycle, America's Next Top Model released a trailer that was edited in way that misconstrued our overarching message.
As a leader in celebrating and promoting healthy body image, I must admit that I regrettably didn't see this clip before it was released to the public, (with multiple Top Model departments, it's just impossible to review everything) but on behalf of the Top Model team, these were not the intentions, and we truly apologize for any confusion, anger or disappointment it may have caused.
The passionate response the trailer has evoked proves that the message to promote and celebrate all different -- healthy and natural -- body types has resonated with our viewers and I'm so proud of every one of you who voiced your opinion and participated in this conversation. I have experienced body image scrutiny from one extreme to the next -- as an awkward, extremely thin pre-teen who couldn't gain weight no matter what I did, to later being slammed by the media for my fuller, curvier frame.
Driven by these personal experiences I am committed to expanding the definition of beauty which includes ALL shapes, sizes and proportions, from skinny to curvy and everything in between. It's about women telling the world to KISS their -- skinny, wide, droopy, flat, cellulite-covered or FAT -- you know what!
Through Top Model and my other platforms, I am able to connect with women directly. During this season of Top Model, you will see that Ann (the woman featured in the trailer) provided another opportunity for me to support a young woman struggling with her own body image issues (she's 6'2''; and is the receiver of countless stares and ridicule). Helping young ladies, like Ann and countless others that have confided in me, furthers and supports my core mission.

Kara DioGuardi only found out she was fired in the newspaper (VIDEO)

Recently ousted American Idol judge Kara DioGuardi only found out she was fired from the show when she read it in the news, her Republican father revealed in an interview on 'Capital Tonight'.

"Would you believe she did not hear, and still has not heard, anything?" Joe DioGuardi tells the interviewer. "She read it the way you did and I did. Her disappointment is that that's the way she's being treated and she feels that's not proper. I think they're trying to create a lot of buzz."

DioGuardi was part of a massive revamp of the show's judging panel after the producers decided that the general format needed a shake up. American Idol has been the subject of much attention within the television industry, with ratings falling and producers struggling to find their footing in the schedule of TV viewers.

Watch the interview with DioGuardi's father below. We suggest that you watch from 4:15.

Another 'Jersey Shore' cast member arrested

24-year-old Ronald "Ronnie" Ortiz-Magro, a reality TV star seen on the popular MTV show Jersey Shore has been arrested, according to the Associated Press and Seaside Heights Police. Ortiz-Magro was arrested on outstanding warrants from two other communities around the Garden State area. The offenses involve parking violations.

Press reporting on the matter say that he was released after satisfying the conditions of the warrants in question. He was taken into custody at about noon on Sunday.

The arrest is not the first brush participants of the show have had with the law while living in the New Jersey house in which the show is set. Another contestant, nicknamed Snooki, was arrested on disorderly conduct charges around two weeks ago. Ortiz-Magro, himself, was also arrested in 2009 by Seaside Heights officers on charges of disorderly conduct.

Rihanna's new tattoo has a mistake in it

The new tattoo Rhianna recently added to her collection reads "rebelle fleur", which, she believes, is French for 'rebellious flower'.

Unfortunately, however, mere novices in the language have told the R&B star that adjectives usually follow the noun in French, making her seemingly inspired tattoo translate into nothing more than foreign-sounding gibberish.

Fergie's financial meltdown leads to voluntary bankruptcy recommendation

Sarah Ferguson, commonly known as 'Fergie' and officially as the Duchess of York, has been advised to file for voluntary bankruptcy as her financial troubles culminate to something that resembles a small personal financial meltdown.

An embarrassing video released to a British tabloid several months ago illustrated the extent to which the Duchess has sunk with regard to her financial situation. The clip shows her arranging a deal with a journalist to meet her former husband Prince Andrew - from whom she gets her royal title.

Following this incident, Ferguson publicly admitted her financial troubles after many years of speculation in the press.

According to the Sunday Telegraph, the Duchess' debts have risen to around £5 million ($10.9  million). The newspaper also reported that one known advisor working for Buckingham Palace has advised Ferguson to file for voluntary bankruptcy.

David Cameron, the recently elected British Prime Minister, has reportedly been briefed on the issue. It was noted in the report that no member of the royal family has ever been declared bankrupt before.

Angelina Jolie's daughter wears boys' swimming gear, cried over having long hair

Angelina Jolie has said that her daughter Shiloh cried over having long hair and is upset if the clothes her mother buys her are too feminine. The four year old was photographed in boys' swimming trunks recently and was the subject of a comment made by her mother in Grazia magazine.

"It's not my choice. I have a very strong-willed four-year-old girl, who tells me what she wants to wear and I let her be who she is. I think people think kids should be a certain way, but I feel they should wear what they feel like wearing and they should express themselves. Shiloh cried one night and said, 'Please cut my hair off. I don't want to have long hair.' I'm not going to leave it long because somebody thinks I should."

Jolie also said at one point that her daughter has a fascinating 'Montenegro style'.

Discovery Channel plans "American Idol" like talent show for prisoners

It isn't the first time crazy ideas have taken off, but this one is certainly a first. Reports have now been released that suggest a new American Idol-like television show for prisoners is in development. Even as the original struggles, "Talent Behind Bars", as the TV show is rumored to be called, is being pursued as a concept for Investigation Discovery.

According to BroadcastingCable.com:

"The essence of the show is to highlight people who have been convicted of non-violent crimes and misdemeanors," Schleiff told B&C after the presentation. "Maybe there's somebody in a part of the country where they've never had a real chance to have a proper education, but they have a talent. Maybe it's singing, for example. So if we can give somebody like that, because of the use of the medium of our series, a break, they [might] get seen. And [if] someone sees that they have an extraordinary ability, it's a chance for maybe a little bit of a redemption."

Prizes for the winners of such a show are yet to be decided but, as many have already speculated, a range of rewards based around prisoner rehabilitation may be up for grabs. [Broadcasting Cable]

Former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson has opened up to a number of different outlets recently about his drug addiction.
Most recently, he spoke with ESPN about how he only appeared as himself in 'The Hangover' - a blockbuster success of a movie about the misadventures of a few Las Vegas visitors - to fund his drug habit.

"I was doing that to supply my drug habit," he said. He added that he planned on selling bootlegs of the movie, but instead it was an "international success."

Tyson, who recently became a vegan, also took time while on the air to talk about how the death of his four-year old daughter impacted his life and decisions. Listen to the entire interview here.

Lady Gaga's onstage plea to Arizona audience to discourage new immigration laws

Although singer Lady Gaga says she's not a huge fan of Arizona's new immigration laws, she's not looking to boycott the state.

The flamboyant onstage personality took time out of a concert in the state to highlight her distaste for the new laws, which are set to redefine the new political stance on immigration.

However, this doesn't mean that Gaga will be joining in any proposed boycott. According to Newser:

"I got a call from some big rappers and big rockers. They said, 'We'd like you to boycott Arizona,'" she explained from the stage to a sympathetic crowd of more than 14,000.

Barack Obama's interesting jeans/sandal combination

Interesting choice of footwear, Mr President. Although it is summertime, surely the most powerful man on the planet would be able to dress up a little - or at least avoid the ugly jeans and tacky sandals.

Could the fashion icon that we saw during the election be rather boring when dressed casually? Sure, it was a casual night - but jeans and sandals? We expect better.

Big money spent on Lindsay's rehab clinic raises eyebrows

It would appear that going to prison nowadays isn't quite the horrible experience it used to be, but instead a harmless inconvenience. That is, if you look at the rehab clinic Lindsay Lohan will be checking into.

The rehab clinic the embattled movie star will be staying in is being fitted out in a renovation worth nearly a quarter of a million dollars, a number of news websites report.

Lohan will not be staying, as initially thought, at a rehabilitation centre in Newport, but instead at a 'satellite location' in Costa Mesa.

It can't be so bad though. The facility she will be housed in is being 'pimped out' in true Lohan style. A new walk-in closet, a remodeled kitchen and new flooring are just some of the improvements being made on the property.
