Barack Obama's interesting jeans/sandal combination

Interesting choice of footwear, Mr President. Although it is summertime, surely the most powerful man on the planet would be able to dress up a little - or at least avoid the ugly jeans and tacky sandals.

Could the fashion icon that we saw during the election be rather boring when dressed casually? Sure, it was a casual night - but jeans and sandals? We expect better.
