Glenn Beck: I won't be running with Palin in 2012

The star of the big conservative rally of the week stopped by the press to deny any notion that he might be running for President with Alaskan glam-girl Sarah Palin in 2012.

"Not a chance. I don't know what Sarah's doing; I hope to be on vacation. I have no desire to be president of the United States, zero desire. I don't think that I would be electable, and there are far too many people who are far smarter than me to be president."

Beck caused controversy (he is a conservative commenter for Fox News) when he decided to hold the rally on the same day and in the same location as the one Martin Luther King held several decades ago - where he gave his stirring 'I Have a Dream' speech.

He is no stranger to such controversy, though. He once called Obama a racist, among other things.

"I don't want to retract—I want to amend. I think it's much more of a theological question. I didn't understand really his theological viewpoints come from Liberation Theology; that's what I think at the gut level I was sensing, and I miscast it as racism."

Dr Laura, in the middle of N-word scandal, ends show

Dr Laura Schlessinger announced on Tuesday that she would be ending her long-running show on talk radio in the midst of a controversy involving an on-air rant in which she mentioned the 'N-word' a number of times.

"My contract is up for my radio show at the end of the year and I've made the decision not to do radio anymore," she said on the show hosted by outgoing television icon Larry King. "The reason is I want to regain my First Amendment rights. I want to be able to say what's on my mind and in my heart and what I think is helpful and useful without somebody getting angry, some special interest group deciding this is the time to silence a voice of dissent and attack affiliates, attack sponsors. I'm sort of done with that." (WATCH HER INTERVIEW ON LARRY KING)

"I'm not retiring, I'm not quitting, I feel energized actually," she said later in the show. "Stronger and freer to say the things that I believe need to be said for people in this country." She said that the huge public and press uproar that occurred following the rant was an infringement of her constitutional rights.

"Living with the constant fear of affiliates and sponsors being attacked is very distracting," she argued. "I never called anybody a bad word. I was trying to bring -- and obviously it has become a national discussion now -- I was trying to make a philosophical point. And I made it wrong, but I wasn't dissing anybody. I was trying to make a point, and for that to say that I should be silenced is the reason why I'm saying to you that I'm obviously losing First Amendment rights."

White supremacist/neo-Nazi looks likely to win School Board seat

A man who promotes himself as a proud white-supremacist is running for school board in a small inland American town. What's worse, however is that he looks - at this stage - to be the likely victor come polling time.

Dan Schruender, who once served as the president of a California organization that promotes the idea of a pure white race, filed nomination papers on Monday to run for one of two seats on the board which oversees education in the Rialto Unified School District.

Incumbent board members are meanwhile seeking re-election. The 27,500-student district is nearly 76 percent Hispanic and nearly 16 percent black.

Schruender, who - according to the AP - enjoys dropping off racist flyers around the neighborhood, announced the launch of his campaign on the bigoted website of the white-supremacist organization of which he is a part.

Neo-Nazi hunts for immigrants in Arizona

A militia whose leader holds strong neo-Nazi ties, has emerged in the desert of Arizona. Their purpose, reports the Associated Press, is to find immigrants - they believe only white, non-jewish heterosexuals should become American citizens - as they are not satisfied by new laws as well as increased border patrol.

Several state politicians, a popular gossip website reports, have close ties to white-supremicist groups regardless of such vigilante-inspired hunts along the border.

Their leader, who is highlighted by the yellow arrow in the picture above, is known as Jason "J.T." Ready and is taking matters into his own hands. They haven't been all too successful, however, having only found a few border-crossers, the AP reports, who were handed over to Border Patrol after being given water.

Mel Gibson rant remix: Tape of racist rant in all new disco mode

It was only a matter of time after Mel Gibson's latest racist rant against his partner was turned into a disco dance remix. Embedded below is one we think is particularly worthy of our praise, and a place on the Murray Report homepage.

After the tape was released, there was intense speculation that it may mark the end of his career, due to the huge public relations disaster that has followed. This particular rant is the latest in a long-stretching string of Gibson remarks that have sparked controversy within Hollywood.

With newly released tape, latest Gibson slip affirms what we all thought

Mel Gibson, the high-profile Hollywood impresario, has been something of a public amusement as of late - and a symbol of bad taste among circles of the rich, powerful and elite within the entertainment industry. The question on the lips of everyone within the media at this time is, however: is this latest public relations disaster too difficult to salvage?

The tape, which reveals some of the more shocking comments Gibson has made (and slowly leaked into the public) is now available in full, and has become something of a ubiquitous source of public anguish against the movie star.

What is perhaps more worrying for Gibson is that his racial slurs and remarks represent a wider problem than simple family issues and drinking; perhaps revealing that he is in fact the bigoted, racist man that we all enjoy making him out to be. Sure enough, this latest slip affirms what we thought before.

If these last couple of remarks are the only ones caught on tape, it makes one wonder just how many have gone unheard by the public ear.

However, I suppose that's just it: we can only wonder.

Mel Gibson calls latinos 'Wetbacks' in yet another racial slur

Mel Gibson just can't keep his mouth shut with regard to racist comments. The movie star and Hollywood player has been caught (yet again) on camera with another racial slur. This time he's at the latinos - "they're wetbacks", says Gibson.

The oscar winning director/producer, reports Radar Online, is heard referring to one of his staffers as a 'wetback' during a recorded argument between himself and Oksana Grigorieva, 'the mother of his love child'.

"I will report her to the f**king people that take f**king money from the wetbacks", he is reported to have said on the tape.

Radar Online claims that the slur stems from the perception of mexicans who sometimes swim through oceans in order to bypass US border security and gain access into the country illegally.

UPDATE: Bro' Town creator resigns over racist, homophobic remarks

Having reported earlier on the racist and homophobic remarks of the Bro Town creator, we can now report that David Fane has handed in his letter of resignation, and will be leaving TV3 due to a public relations blow out following the statements.

Although Fane earlier apologized about what he said, noting that he was intoxicated at the time, that didn't stop the media shockwave following the remarks, which turned into a full-on controversy.

Fane was part of the new TV3 comedy show RhadiRhadiRah and also hosted a breakfast show on the radio station Flava, which is owned by TV3's parent company MediaWorks.

Bro'Town creator keeps it classy: 'Jews are expendable' and HIV sufferers deserved to be 'roasted'

One of the creators of the 'iconic' television show Bro Town, apologized on his radio show this morning for comments that he made at a media conference on Wednesday.

Fane, who is also known for his roles in other New Zealand television shows and films such as Outrageous Fortune and Sione's Wedding said he was intoxicated and had his judgement clouded at the time of the event.

The Herald reported that the comedian remarked that Hitler 'had a right' and that HIV sufferers deserved to be 'roasted' and that 'Jews are expendable'.

That sure is a career limiting move. Doesn't he know that all of Hollywood is run by Jewish people?

Did Supreme Court nominee, Kagan, compare the NRA with the Ku Klux Klan?

Elena Kagan, the latest nominee to the Supreme Court by President Obama has come under fire from a conservative website, known as the National Review, which questions the possibility of the nominee comparing the National Rifle Association with the Ku Klux Klan.

"It has become clear", writes the website's Robert VerBruggen, "that Elena Kagan is no friend of gun rights, to say the least". Yes sir, and you're a nut job...to say the least.

Cop who punched 17 year old girl defended by police union

Last night, we posted a video that showed a policeman punching a 17-year-old girl in the head, in a struggle to arrest her for jaywalking. As a follow up, we can tell you that the police union has, in fact, defended the actions of the officer, saying that it was 'fair force'.

The Associated Press reports:
[Officers Guild President] Rich O'Neil told KCPQ-TV that punching her in the face was an appropriate use of force as the officer [Ian P. Walsh] struggled with two women and a crowd formed. O'Neil says it's wrong to call the punch police brutality or racist.

Investigation launched into Apple's 'fear of Asian customers'

The attorney general of New York is reportedly investigating claims that Apple, the technology company that today released the next generation iPhone, is in fear of Asian customers and asking to see their passports.

Among other things, Apple employees are reported as saying that certain customers' English 'sucks' and denying some their right to purchase the company's brand new iPad tablet computing device.

The political blog, Politico, reported that Apple had been suspicious due to the large volume of illegal exports of the iPad to China - and that they were investigating potential international leaks of the product to untapped overseas markets.

Politico reported:

A person who had been informed of Apple's policy said the company — concerned that customers were purchasing multiple iPads for sale abroad — had briefly instituted a questionnaire for use in the course of iPad sales, aimed at blocking those illegal exports. The source said the policy is no longer in place, and [the attorney general's office] signaled that the investigation appears likely to be resolved routinely.
