Julian Assange: I was smeared, women stick by molestation charges

The high profile whistleblower behind the controversial website WikiLeaks has spoken out against a group of women who claimed they were raped by him, the Wall Street Journal reports.

It is clearly a smear campaign," Julian Assange told Al-Jazeera yesterday. "The only question is, who was involved?"

One of the two women claim that consensual sex with the internet icon turned abusive, although it was never rape. "The accusations against Assange are not staged by either the Pentagon nor anyone else," the accuser told a Swedish newspaper. "The responsibility for what happened to me and the other girl are with a man with a disturbed view of women and problems accepting a no.

Woman sues Disney, claims she was molested by Donald Duck

A Pennsylvania woman, having visited Disney World Florida's Epcot Centre theme park, is suing the Walt Disney Company because - she claims - an employee of the company dressed as Donald Duck 'grabbed her breast and molested her' after she sought an autograph from the much loved character.

According to the report filed under the lawsuit, the Duck made gestures with his 'snowy white hands' indicating he had done something wrong. The 27 year old was visiting Epcot in May 2008 with her fiancee and children.

She claims that as a result of the incident, she has suffered “severe physical injury, emotional anguish and distress including, but not limited to post-traumatic stress disorder.”

She is suing the company, who is looking to have the case moved into federal court, for negligence, battery, and infliction of emotional distress, and is seeking in excess of $50,000 in damages.

Larry Ellison mocks HP board - Just like the 'idiots' at Apple

Larry Ellison, the billionaire CEO of business software firm Oracle and Silicon Valley's official spendmaster general, has caused a stir within the technology gossip world after he likened the board at embattled hardware maker HP to the 'idiots' at tech giant Apple Inc.

Ellison took time out of his busy schedule to talk to the New York Times on the matter, reports Engadget.

"The H.P. board just made the worst personnel decision since the idiots on the Apple board fired Steve Jobs many years ago. That decision nearly destroyed Apple and would have if Steve hadn't come back and saved them," he is quoted to have told a reporter.

Ellison also criticized the people at HP for releasing the sexual harassment claim brought against CEO Mark Hurd. He went on to say that it was a case of "cowardly corporate political correctness".

Former model for 'The Price is Right' claims she was fired for being pregnant

According to gossip website TMZ, yet another former employee of the TV show 'The Price is Right' claims that she was fired from the show's staff for becoming pregnant. What's more, she specifically singles out Bob Barker - the host of the show - as being instrumental in forcing her out.

Shane Stirling has told the gossip site that it wasn't long after she announced her pregnancy to members of the show's staff that she was "forced into an early pregnancy leave, was not allowed to return to work for almost a year after her child's birth, and was fired abruptly."

A lawsuit filed Friday reveals the extent to which Barker plays a part in her ouster, according to her side of the story. "The host of the game show had always been very kind and generous to Stirling until he learned that she was pregnant," the suit claims. Barker, Stirling says, didn't want her being pregnant and working at the same time because he considered it to be 'dangerous' and she would become a 'liability'.

This isn't the first brush with controversy Baker and the show have come across recently. It was reported not long ago that another former staff member claimed that she, too, was treated poorly when she became pregnant.

Al Gore sexual harassment charges dropped

Portland authorities, according to a major international news site, have dropped their case against Al Gore and have signaled that they will no longer investigate 2006 charges that allege the former Vice President groped a licensed masseuse.

According to a local Portland television station:

The complaining witness, Molly Hagerty, stated that she was sexually abused during a massage session at the Hotel Lucia when Gore was in Portland.Hagerty failed a polygraph test during the course of the investigation, and there was no DNA evidence on the pants she claimed she wore during the alleged incident, according to investigators.

Gore, despite adamant denial of having ever committed such a crime, has not been entirely open with such denials, choosing to keep the case as quiet as possible.

The National Enquirer, using old police filings, broke the story last month.
