Michael Douglas discusses odds with Letterman, 80% chance of recovery

Actor Michael Douglas, who recently told the public that he had been diagnosed with throat cancer, went on Letterman's Tuesday show to discuss, among other things, his shocking cancer revelation and his chances of recovery.

He says that he has just completed his first eight weeks of treatment, and 'appeared a little thinner than usual', according to various sources.

His voice may change, he tells reporters, and he may find swallowing solid food difficult.

He seemed upbeat in the interview. When Letterman, always the kind television host, offered to see if there was anything he could do, he was met with a heartfelt 'Aw, give me a hug!' Watch the interview in the video embedded below.

Dick Cheney Hospitalized

Former vice president of the United States, Dick Cheney, was hospitalized after experiencing discomfort, according to the Associated Press, who reported on Cheney's condition just hours ago.
Cheney was expected to remain at George Washington University Hospital over the weekend, said spokesman Peter Long.
It was not immediately clear whether Cheney's health concern was related to his previous heart troubles. He sustained his last heart attack, deemed a mild one, in February.
Cheney was not feeling well on Friday and went to see his doctors at George Washington University. On their advice, he was admitted to the hospital for further testing.

Too much sun may give you cancer, but sunblock can too

We have long been told of the importance of putting on sunscreen before spending any prolonged period of time in the harsh sunlight.

However, a new study reveals that some sunblocks can actually accelerate the effects of cancer, and make some people more susceptible.

A New York senator is calling attention to the fact that retinyl palmitate is an ingredient in most sunblocks, and was also proven to accelerate the development of cancerous cells in controlled tests on lab animals.
