Gadhafi to attractive Italian women: Convert!

Moammar Gadhafi is reported to have paid 'hot Italian women' (this is not the first reported incident) to listen to one of his riveting lectures on Islam, life and religion as well as why they should convert. The Associated Press has reported that the women were paid an undisclosed sum, and were rounded up from a local modeling agency.

Following the lecture, the women were reportedly taken back to the Libyan ambassador's residence, given their own copies of the Koran and yet another religious lesson. The women were reportedly 'converted on the spot'.

NYC mosque debate will shape American Islam

Adnan Zulfiqar, a graduate student, former U.S. Senate aide and American-born son of Pakistani immigrants, will soon give the first khutbah, or sermon, of the fall semester at the University of Pennsylvania. His topic has presented itself in the daily headlines and blog posts over the disputed mosque near ground zero. What else could he choose, he says, after a summer remembered not for its reasoned debate, but for epithets, smears, even violence? Read the full article from the Associated Press.

Mosque supporter: 9/11? Get over it!

Perhaps this isn't the best way to get your point out in a positive fashion, and although at Murray Report we have been rather supportive of the proposal to build an Islamic centre near Ground Zero in New York, there are a few things we simply cannot ignore.

Namely, a video where a mosque supporter is seen telling those involved in the attacks in September of 2001 to simply 'get over it'.

“God d****it, my wife is Jewish. Come on you guys, get over it”, the man said in regards to 9/11 after trying to draw an analogy using the Vietnam War. Right after he says to “get over it”, a lady responded “Oh my God, I’m not going to get over it- it happened right there”, pointing towards Ground Zero. An argument then breaks out between the two. Typically, he later calls her a “racist”. [Via Breitbart]

RNC member: Obama told muslims he was a muslim

In the wake of a number of polls which suggest around one in five Americans incorrectly believe that Obama is a muslim, a Republican National Committee member has criticized the coverage of the issue by online magazine Politico. "BTW he personally told the muslims that he IS a muslim," wrote the Iowa RNC member. "Read his lips."

In addition to this, Kim Lehman, the woman behind the messages, lashed back at an article by the site which, she claims, was trying to 'protect' Obama.

Several blogs and news websites have since picked up her remarks against the President as a news story.
When contacted by reporters, Lehman reportedly stuck by her opinion and the views she had expressed online, saying "I was watching television when he was over there talking to the Muslim world and he made it, in my opinion, clear he was partially Muslim," Lehman told the Huffington Post. "The way he was approaching that speech was, 'Hey I'm one of you. I'm with you.' He didn't have to say that... but he did."

"Again, going back to his speech... he would have said I'm a Christian and I'm from the Christian religion and we can work together. It didn't appear to me he said Christianity was part of his religion," she said when asked about Obama's claims that he is a Christian.

Rev. Graham says Obama was 'born a muslim'

In the wake of a new poll suggesting one in five Americans incorrectly believe that Obama belongs to the Islamic faith, a highly respected and influential Christian leader has said publicly that he believes Obama was 'born a muslim'.

I think the president's problem is that he was born a Muslim, his father was a Muslim. The seed of Islam is passed through the father like the seed of Judaism is passed through the mother. He was born a Muslim, his father gave him an Islamic name," he told CNN in an interview which aired on Thursday.

"Now it's obvious that the president has renounced the prophet Mohammed, and he has renounced Islam, and he has accepted Jesus Christ. That's what he says he has done. I cannot say that he hasn't. So I just have to believe that the president is what he has said," he continued, going on to say "the Islamic world sees the president as one of theirs."

The President, himself, had published in his bestselling memoir that his father was an atheist by the time he was born. He eventually divorced his mother. Obama had little contact with his father during childhood.

The misinformation surrounding Obama's faith and nationality continues, despite active press action by the White House and other officials to correct the issues surrounding the controversy. A recent poll found that 18% of those surveyed incorrectly said that Obama's faith was Islam - up 11% from March 2009.

Ground Zero mosque advertisement sparks controversy

The Transit agency responsible for all advertising within the New York public transport system has approved a controversial ad opposing the building of a mosque near Ground Zero, the site of the terrorist attacks which occurred on September 11, 2001.

The ad, which shows the 'Two Towers' burning alongside a rendering of the proposed Islamic Centre, was paid for by the American Freedom Defense Initiative, a group that opposes Islamic advancement in the United States.

Transit Agency officials were sued by the group before they would approve the ad. MTA spokesman Kevin Ortiz says the agency doesn't endorse the ad's views.

Pakistani mosques attacked by Gunmen, 5 killed

Gunmen, reportedly armed with grenades among other weapons, have killed around 5 people after attacking the mosque of a minority islamic sect in the Pakistani city of Lahore, the Associated Press reported just minutes ago.

The attacks were against the Ahmadi group, which has been targeted by radical Sunni groups in the past, though never on such a large scale or coordinated fashion.
The Pakistani Taleban in Punjab has claimed responsibility.
The mosques were several kilometres apart from each other, police officer Haider Ashraf said.
The Government has also declared that the group cannot affiliate itself with the Islamic faith, and that it does not recognize it as a Muslim group.
