Miley Cyrus defends lesbian kiss
Miley Cyrus turned in a very grown-up performance on Britain's Got Talent Thursday night that has some critics of the 17-year-old more than a little upset. Half-way through the number, it appeared that Miley kissed one of her female back-up singers. On her fan site, Miley is now asking everybody to calm down.

Storms and tornadoes kill 7 in Ohio
Tornados and thunderstorms that swept through the Midwest overnight killed at least four people in Ohio, sent several to hospitals, destroyed 50 homes and damaged scores more, as well a high school gymnasium where graduation was to be held Sunday.
Authorities in northwest Ohio are still searching through homes and couldn't say whether anyone else is missing, Lake Township Fire Chief Todd Walters said. Walters flew over the damage Sunday morning and estimates the storm left an 8-mile path of destruction in a straight line over an area of farm fields and light industry. The storm that hit around 11 p.m. Saturday narrowly missed the heavily populated suburbs on the southern edge of Toledo
Toddler missing after woman's death
Police are urgently searching for a missing 18-month-old girl after a woman thought to be her mother was found dead in a Tauranga house.
Police have launched a homicide inquiry after the 32-year-old woman was found dead in a house in Otumoetai, a Tauranga suburb, on Sunday evening. Police are speaking with a man in connection to the death.
Mayor to pay back credit cards
The frontrunner for mayor of the Auckland super-city, Len Brown, has today announced that he will curb his spending and pay back his debts on his council issued credit card.

Two of Brown's fellow councilors have raised the issue of his debts.Mr Brown told the New Zealand Herald he had reimbursed the council for the personal expenditure totalling $579.27. For the year to May, he ran up $10,864.98 in expenses on his mayoral credit card."I try and set the best examples on all fronts. I'm not going to be bulletproof and I don't set out to be perfect. I just set out to be my best and be accountable for it," Mr Brown told the newspaper.
