Kim Kardashian wants to stop fan from having look-alike plastic surgery

Although it's often said imitation is the most sincere form of flattery, it's clear Kim Kardashian - the trashy reality TV star who has her own show on E! - isn't buying a word of it.

It was revealed by a number of mainstream websites today that the star begged a fan not to proceed with plastic surgery that would mimic her appearance.

A Twitter user used an @reply to say she was going to have such an operation so that her husband wouldn't leave her. "He worships her", she tweeted.

"NO." Kardashian shot back, writing: "Please don't. Ur husband should love u 4 who u are! Don't try 2 b someone else. I'm sure u are beautiful inside & out! Just as u are."

Kardashian is, herself, not a fan of such proceedures, having denied any rumour that she has had them performed on her own body. 

"Don't change yourself for anybody but yourself ... be happy with who u are! Someone will appreciate and adore u just as you are," she later said in a follow up message to the woman.

North Koreans prefer amputations without anesthesia

It turns out that in North Korea, having anesthesia during an operation whereby ones leg is amputated is just a frivolous luxury - as revelations emerge that the country's doctors are freely performing amputations with their patients entirely awake.

We can also report that the same policy is employed with regard to working lights - with doctors performing surgery and complicated operations by candlelight.

A 24 year old told the Associated Press that he had his leg amputated without anesthesia and that his ankle was crushed by a moving train after he fell out of the car.

Perhaps, then, North Korea's fashionista dictator should begin to pay more attention to his country's health system than acquiring the newest and latest styles off Shopstyle. [AP]

The last time we reported on a bionic/robotic...anything, it was the short-lived, yet rather entertaining, coverage we provided of the emergence of the world's first bionic cat. It seems that we can once again delve into the world of robo-medicine; this time with a human.

A New Zealand company (makes you proud, doesn't it?) named Rex Bionics has developed a groundbreaking pair of what the developers have called 'robotic pants' - which, in something of a miraculous moment, allowed the guinea pig, named Hayden (pictured above), to walk for the first time in five years. 

Just a couple of minor issues stop this amazing new device from making it to the masses of wheelchair-bound customers just yet. First off, it's extremely slow - with the robotic legs taking what seems a lifetime to take a single step. Secondly, there's the fact that it lacks any real aesthetic appeal yet. Finally, and perhaps most importantly, it comes with the haunting pricetag of a mere $150,000.

X-Ray of Marilyn Monroe's chest goes for $45,000 in Vegas

Turns out, they're pretty keen on Marilyn Monroe in Las Vegas, where three copies of an X-Ray of her chest has just fetched $45,000 in auction in the Nevada city.

The images were taken in 1954, just a fortnight following her divorce.

Clearly, nightclubs, gambling and Cirque Du Soleil just isn't enough. Only in Vegas!

Warren Beatty's daughter wants a sex change

The daughter of celebrity Warren Beatty and Annette Bening has announced publicly that she intends to undergo a gender reassignment.

The 18 year old, who is currently living under the name Stephen Ira, can now both afford and is legally able to have the surgery, which will see her become legally recognized as a male.

She told her parents, according to the National Inquirer that once she turned 18 she would be taking matters into her own hands.
